Why we give

We don't give because the church needs money. We give because generosity does something to us.

It loosens the grip that stuff has on our hearts and puts us in step with a God who gave first, and gave everything. Giving is worship before it's a budget line.

Every dollar is a discipleship decision for Jesus.

You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:24

Our heart goes where we put God's money.

Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21

Giving is God's antidote to materialism.

Be on your guard against all kinds of greed. Luke 12:15

Small acts of generosity make big waves in eternity.

She, out of her poverty, put in everything she had. Mark 12:44

From generous giving flows a joyful heart.

God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

One story

They were newlyweds with no idea how they'd make it.

When Emily and her husband got married, the math simply didn't work. Two entry-level paychecks, a stack of brand-new expenses, and a budget that came up short before the month was even over. Giving to God felt like the one thing they couldn't possibly afford to start.

They decided to trust him with it anyway, before it made sense on paper. What followed wasn't a windfall or a check from nowhere. It was something quieter and steadier: enough. Month after month, God's grace and provision met them right where they were, and it was more than sufficient.

In Malachi 3, God makes an offer he makes nowhere else in Scripture: test me in this. Emily and her husband did, and he kept every promise. Malachi 3:10

We give to God, through Grace.

Not to Grace. Through it. The church is simply the place your generosity moves through on its way to doing something real.

If you've never given before, don't start with a number. Start with a prayer. Ask God what your first step looks like, and what he might be asking you to loosen your grip on. Then take it, whatever the size. This is the start of a journey, not a transaction.

Ways to Give

01

Church Center app

Give once or set up a recurring gift, from your phone or the web. Same place either way, takes about a minute.

02

On Sunday

Drop your gift in a Connection Box near any Worship Center exit.

03

By mail

Check or money order made out to Grace Community Church, 2346 Floral Ave., Chico, CA 95926.

Legacy & stock

Some of the most significant gifts don't come from a checking account.

If you're thinking about a stock transfer, a donor-advised fund, or including Grace in your estate, our Executive Pastor would love to talk it through. No pressure, no pitch, just a conversation about what you're hoping to do.

If you're new

Giving isn't your next step.

Seriously. This page is for people who already call Grace home. If you're still figuring out what you think about all this, we're just glad you're in the room.
