Who Is Jesus?
The Power of Christ Over Sin and Death
Everything at Grace starts here. Not with a program or a building, but with a person. This is who we believe he is, and why it changes everything.
Jesus is God.
Jesus wasn't a good teacher who got promoted. He didn't begin at Bethlehem. He has always been, and he made the world he stepped into.
That matters, because it means when you look at Jesus you are looking at God. Not a rumor about him. Not a version of him. Him.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.John 1:1 · ESV
Jesus is Savior.
Every one of us has fallen short, and none of us can fix that on our own. No amount of effort closes the gap.
So Jesus closed it. He lived the life we couldn't, died the death we deserved, and walked out of the grave three days later. Forgiveness here isn't earned. It's received.
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.Romans 5:8 · ESV
Jesus is Lord.
Because he is God and he is Savior, he is also Lord. Not a distant ruler, but a good one, worth handing your whole life to.
Following him reshapes things. How we spend our time and our money, how we treat people, what we do with a Tuesday. It's a life, not a decision you make once and file away.
So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.Philippians 2:10-11 · ESV
Nobody is beyond the reach of God's love, and nobody is beyond the need for God's grace.
Jesus is the only way to true freedom, forgiveness, and eternal life. Our sole mission is to help people follow him.
Two good next steps.
